Abstract
The Design phase includes Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD) and Contract Documentation (CD).
Notes
During the Schematic Design (SD) phase, the architects communicate their proposed design to the client. At this stage, not all details will be worked out but the overall design approach will be made clear. For the Design Development (DD), the architects will continue to develop the design and will develop typical details during this time. The Contract Documentation (CD) will have been produced by the architects to be submitted for building permit applications, and can also be used to solicit construction proposal from contractors.
